Estero Bay

The fishing has been on fire!

Redfish are abundant. We have been catching lots of slot size Redfish on my Charters. Target Mangrove Islands and Oyster bars.

Fresh cut bait and live Shrimp will get the job done! Small Buck tail jigs in White or 1/4 oz jig head and a Hybrid Flurry will also work well.

We have also been catching a few Tarpon lately. They can be found near bridges early in the morning. You can use live Pilchards or Pinfish.

Trout can be found on the grass flats in 2' to 4' of water using a popping cork and live shrimp. Drift the grass flats and Power Pole down when you come across a school of fish. Once the bite lets up continue drifting until you find another school and continue this pattern until your fished out.

Tripletail is starting to show up along crab traps. Use live Pilchards or Shrimp to target these fish.

The Snook bite has also been excellent. Look for them on inside Islands with good current flow. Use Rapala Skitter walks for artificial and for live bait use shrimp or pilchards.

This is one the best times of the year to be out on the water. There are so many species to fish for and the weather and the scenery is especially beautiful this time of year.
