Does Barometric Pressure Effect the Bite?

Fishing the past couple of weeks has been good, the nip in the air has dropped the water temps a bit and the fish began to adjust. I was out with clients just before the front and the bite was fantastic! We boated over 100 fish in 4 hours!

We worked an oyster bar and landed the fish above. Redfish and sheepshead this size were chewing well, it was one after another until.........

.....these fish moved in and ran off the dinks! The crew stuck redfish this size one after another! the bite was off the chain, 12 to 15 redfish in the 22 to 25 inch range. All fish were caught on shrimp on an 1/8th oz jighead.

While fishing with Joe Galyan and his crew before the last front we had a 4 hour trip planned, we fished for redfish with some action, but not what I had hoped for. We moved around to another area and got into some good trout action. The bite tapered off, so another move got us on some good redfish action. Then the bite died. I was just about to power-pole-up and move on, when Joey had a screaming drag! The set up was a medium light Deep South rod with a Okuma Exprior 20 and 10 lb braid. Knife to a gun fight come to mind?

After a long battle the fish was boatside, photographed, measured (32 inches and FAT) and was released to fight another battle with another angler on another day! This fish made the trip for Joey. I am sure she will be the fish of someone elses dreams in the spring!

Below is a video clip for a recent sight casting trip with Buck and Angelina, we were sight fishing redfish in shallow water in the skiff!
