Does Barometric Pressure Effect the Bite?

Well, it's back to work in the local canals after a very wet trip to the Amazon! I found it a tough bite for peacock bass in the urban canals of the Amazon, due to the recent cold snap, but we still got a few. Right now, the peacock bass bite in the Everglades is fair!

In the Amazon, the peacocks were biting on jigs and floating Rapalas. It took a lot of moving around to find the active peacock bass. In the Everglades I've been using twitching floating Rapalas early in the morning, and a Flappin Shad in the afternoon. It hasn't been crazy good but the water should warm up soon and inspire our great fish in South Florida to get it going again!

Just a note: I am down to only a few half days left open in March, and April is quickly filling up, so if you are looking to get down to South Florida soon give me a yell at 877-966-2275 or 954-609-3671.

Pictures from the last three days on the water:
