Islamorada + Middle Keys
I called my friend Gary with this report about me and my friend Jason Rogers catching a 125lb tarpon the other day, and swore to my friend it would get onto the front page today :) The tarpon have really showed up in increasing numbers at all of the primary cuts we fish. These images of me and my very dear friend (and excellent angler) Jason Rogers shows him fighting what turned out to be a "One-Twenty-Five" -- a 125lb Silver King.
We know you guys catch a lot of tarpon in your waters, too, but down here the tarpon are just so beautiful, and so cooperative, and fished by people that come here specifically to catch them by people from all over our beautiful world, that the fishery is hard to compare to yours. The nature of the water, the environment, and the critical role sport fishing plays in our entire social and economic make-up is just unique in the entire world.

The fish you see on Jason Roger's rod and in control of his clearly beefy ManArms came in at 125lbs -- a nice catch for a great friend in the SportFishing Capital of the World -- the Florida Keys :)
The fish came up tough; fish in this weight class aren't the deep runners and sometimes non-jumpers they grow into at older ages. Once a tarpon is about 170lbs or so, they tend not to display the out-of-the-water love them seem to show when they're this size. I love fishing with my anglers -- in case you haven't noticed by now.

That's my friend Jason in the shorts. Like I said. Beefy :) I appreciate each and every angler that steps foot (without black soles, please) on my boats. Jason is one of the special friendships I've developed. Thanks for the day, Rogers -- Greg.
