How long does a slack tide last? The time a tide isn't moving. Say the low tide is 6pm , when would be the worst time? Same for a high tide. Seems like I always go close to a high or low and fishing is slow.

If there is no wind and the air pressure is normal and stable then the tide charts work very well.If not then you are in the fun part of what went wrong. Every location is different and that is why time on water is good.
