I had such a good time the last time I went up to the Gandy/power plant area, that I'd entertain going up near St. Pete again.
This time, I would like to try the area near Ft. D, that can be seen from the Skyway Bridge, sometime in the near future, on a nice, 7-8 kt. wind day.

NO MORE than 9-10 kts, though!

I just looked it up and it looks like the water has loads of drop offs a bit further out heading toward the channel.

Right?!? That's what I say. Miguel is pretty good though...I've been there a few times and never saw it that skinny...I think you'll be good there

Hi Bill, Miguel is in my backyard! There is plenty of water for your kayak. I have fished it many times. I'll be there August 8-16 If you want to come up I'd love to get together and try it along with anybody else that would want to go, maybe DavidT.
