Nothing catches fish like wild shiners in the Suwannee river, up by my house in Fowlers Bluff a guy used to drive down to Ocala and bring back tanks full, and they sold like hot cakes. They don't take travel too well and a lot of them would die on the way up, but even the dead ones would catch fish.
We just rebuilt the Treasure Camp next to the county boat ramp on Fowlers Bluff, and the new owner has a pretty good selection of bait. He split the old shiner tank that was out front in half and put a walk way through it. Everybody was hoping that he would start up the old tank and import some fresh shiners from down south, but the cost was just too high.
