I've been fishing with jigheads and live shrimp for some time now and I can't find one I really love.

I find the smaller jigs work the best and get the fish biting, but they usually only come with thin wire hooks and after a few good fish I have to toss them, or worse a larger fish will straighten the hook. The heavier gauge jigs are typically huge and have a really long shank. I can have them both side by side and the smaller jigheads will produce 3 to 1 over the big ones.

So does anyone know of a heavier guage short shank jighead in 1/8 to 1/4oz?

I have the same trouble.
Larger fish will straighten the hook out.

I have not found anything I like yet.
Post it if you find any, pleas.

These are made by a guy from a different forum, I'm hoping he is selling them cause they are closer to what I was thinking.

I agree if you are going through lots of jig heads , make your own.

Do-it-molds has everything you need to get started.

I only go through lots of them because they bend easy, if it had a stout hook on there I would probably use one or 2 in a trip.
I have the guy who made the ones pictured sending me a few, but he says he already looked into making them for profit and it's not worth it. Plus he does not want to be working with lead all the time. I may make my own, but after looking at the molds and supplies it would be a long time before I recoup my investment. I'll see how they are when I get them.

I make what you seem to be looking for (hand poured). They have Mustad Ultra-point extra strong hooks. $1 ea or 6 for $5.

Hey, Kris!

Why don't you bring some samples of your wares to the Event?
