Not doubting you, Dave, but the registration says 6-9. I'll be there early anyways.

Be early, leave late. Vote early and vote often.

:)

This is going to be one of those memorable events. TommyZ has been doing this all his life. Us recording and eventually turning all this stuff into ebooks is all being tested on you all and is a new thing we will be refining over the entire season. Our special thanks to the Captain for offering to let us do this and for volunteering for the actual class.

We are doing the Bait 101 seminar designed and delivered by Captain David Rieumont with the help of Captain Mike Cole, an outstanding local professional, as well as the seminar that has made Vance Tice a local legend among people who want to catch grouper and other nearshore and offshore species.

We hope to deliver a structured and free resource to our community that will eventually answer all questions somebody might have. The people that have been here and are here for the next few months or new to the site in the next few months will be receiving benefits from helping us with this. Things are about to happen :)

We look forward to meeting you tonight and at every class we can pull off. This stuff is in no way ours. Our being here is to help captains and pros like Vance and TommyZ and David and mike and Scott Moore and all of you to connect to the community and deliver this stuff. We are having sixty and eighty and ninety people show up. That says a lot about the site. We had 220 or more show up for the Barbeque; there would have been 500 or 600 if it had not rained 2" that morning :)

This is verrrrry cool, no?

And did I freaken promise free pizza? That is the kind of stupid thing I would do. You guys gotta understand I have to work for my own pizza, and this site ain't doing anything yet but making my wife and partner mad at me half-the-time :)

It is the other half that is worth it :)

One evening with a man like captain TommyZ shows - at a glance - the quality of men and women that comprise our angling community. This is what is now illegal in Germany and Sweden: catch and release angling, to protect the poor fishies from barbarians like you all.

Thanks Captain Tommy, you're the best. I am still laughing and when we get a chance to talk privately I will tell you why lol.

But this community we are part of is very, very special.

You are all very, very special.

Now, I have a question in case you read this.

If that course - with pictures, animations, maps, and the teacher delivering on camera - was available for something like $3, would it be worth it?

A two-hour course on how to catch tarpon?

Members get it for free, so do not have a fit, ok?

Is the word fit politically correct? I might get in trouble with the "Tides" foundation :) I have fits, so I can say that stuff. Sort of like Jewish jokes that Mel used to tell me and my wife.

Thanks to Capt. Tommy Z., the staff of TOF, and Tampa Fishing Outfitters for last night. It was great and I already spent a bunch of money this morning at TFO.

So, Gary, are you sending out e-mails to everyone today or just to those picked to fish tomorrow?

Thanks.

Barry: Did you use that discount card we got last night at TFO? If so, how much of a discount is it?

And yes that was a great class with crazy amounts of information thrown past us by Tommy. Thanks again to everyone, as well as for the free stuff!

And Gary: $3 would suffice but I feel that there are more people from online here than not so there wouldn't be that many people paying $3...
