Cool! I'm actually going to use that trick in a weird way when I get another baitrunner.

The Okuma Coronado's have funky sizing. Their "40" reel holds 170 of 12lb mono (.32mm). Next size up is a much bulkier "55".

That 40 is too small small to hold the 100 plus meters of line I'd like to have. So I'll put 40-50m of 20lb powerpro on first, then 90m of 16lb momoi (.40mm). Just in case I get into more trouble than I can handle :D

Dan
Wade the flats for r/s/st/f with greenbacks or chubs on a Carolina rig. Moving between spots, I like to throw gold spoons or topwater (in the morning). Throw soft plastics on a 1/8th jighead (z-man minnowz) for flounder and trout in the winter. Kayak fish also, troll a spoon or lipped Rapala...

I'm guessing the tape replaces the mono backing?
Shut up and fish!

It can..I'd rather not have the sticky residue on my reels (just personal preference).
