Could everyone have a prayer or a good thought for Frank Sargeant. He is going in for Heart Valve surgery this week. Frank is a wonderfully kind human being who has helped everyone in this industry who has ever asked him !

The Clock of Life by Robert H. Smith

The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.
To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one’s health is more,
To lose one’s soul is such a loss
That no man can restore.
The present only is our own,
So Live, Love, toil with a will
Place no faith in “Tomorrow”
For the clock may then be still.

Prayers and much good karma to Frank. Since I moved here in '89 I've been reading Frank's articles and books. Met him a couple of times, too, and he's really a very nice guy. Best to you, Frank.

I heard about this from my partner David Rieumont the morning after he found out. I have been friends with Frank for many, many years, and was blessed with his outstanding review of the book Skinny I wrote with Captain Mel Berman.

Has anyone gotten an update on Frank's condition? He is and has been an outstanding resource to our fishing and boating community. Few people know that he's the author of Sailing for Dummies, in addition to many angling books. His writing skills were wide-ranging, just like friend Captain Mel. Mel was the product reviewer for years for Photography magazine.

My prayers are with Frank and his family. He's a wonderful man who's lived a wonderful and joyous life.
