Just curious if anyone has been fishing around Picnic Island lately? Anyone had any luck over there?

fished there for a little bit last weekend and found a few small trout. couldnt find any reds.

Was there Monday during the major solunar in the morning. It was very windy and I don't think the water came in very fast. Used select shrimp under a cork and only got a couple of trout and a 20" red. Oh, and a puffer, of course! B)

IMHO, PI is better with higher water. Later this week might be good.

yea picnic definately needs good water to be able to get up in it. we worked the outer flats but even with that low tide we didnt see any fish moving around. Its amazing how the fish know where the barrier to the base is. lol. they were all on those flats.

IMO, fishing the high tide and the subsequent outgoing is the best game plan at PI. YMMV.

The water was very high yesterday and the incoming was strong. I didn't get a lot of fish but managed a slam. My buddy got a nice fat trout.
