Did anyone from this forum participate in that event last weekend?
Myself and Gandyfisherman fished it on Sunday. They wouldnt allow us to fish the creeks and with a crappy tide we were expecting much, but we were wrong. It was the best inshore day of fishing I have had without being with a guide. We caught over 25 reds and 50 trout ALMOST ALL ON TOPWATER!
Gandyfisherman trumped me with the biggest red being 30" but I nailed him with a 24" trout. I also got my first Topwater only slam with a 24" snook.

We missed a ton of fish as was expected with topwaters, we must have had nearly 200 blow ups.
At one point we had 1 angler working the topwater and when we saw the wake from the fish following it we tossed shrimp and whitebait at them to get them to eat. Thats how several of the larger fish were caught. It was hilarious.

Great report! That's a lot of fish and nice fish too. I guess the fact that there is no pressure there helped out with the bad tide. That water looks real shallow.

That's great dude! Were there lots of boats out?

My wife and I were there too. We did well, though not Quite as well as you guys.
We caught about 30 trout, mostly slot fish with several in the 20" size range.
We also caught 4 slot reds and 2 keeper flounder. All on lures.
Had great time and am looking forward to the next one!

i myself fished with a few friends on sunday, not a real inpressive day for us for the trout but several in the slot, the redfish was better, we got out limit with the biggest at 24'', the snook we got was 32.5'', what a run he made, finally boated the monster, pretty proud of myself on 4lb test, i cant wait next year, the guy at the ramp said they were gonna do it again next year, my brand new 24.5 bay boat ran flawless

And there were very very few boats out there, we were the last ones to get kicked out and they pontoon boat filled with the service men and women were very impressed with our cooler:)
