lots of trouts off the flats. If you have a cast net, you can chum up white bait with purina tropical fish food. Hook them with a float. Fish in about 4' of water. Look for pot holes. Reds have been closer to the mangroves. There are some coves with deep water underneath that will hold some reds. Same setup for the trouts...or some cut ladyfish or mullet would work too. Lots of people on here have been doing really well with the Mirrodines. I like the minidines with the chartreuse back with peal luminescent body. Good luck out there!

Like yalladevil17 said, fish the flats north and south of the CRB channel. Look for the good mix of sand and grass. In my experience, I only catch trout in the grass. Topwater baits like the Spook jr work well early then it isoft plastics. Get some 1/8 to 1/16 oz jig heads and some paddle tail lures like DOA. Hopefully the grass isn't bad, but if it is you may need to go weedless. Between the mouth of the Little Manatee and the CRB ramp are some excellent flats. GL and let us know how you do.

The flats with a spook has been kind to me. I have seen the lil island across from the boatramp have some very nice snook on it. I also fished some of the canals off of the main channel and have caught quite a few snook and redfish(50/50 on plugs and shrimp on a cork). Goodluck.

Thanks for all ur help fellas I had a blast and we caught probably 75 trout on Sunday with 10 keeper specs 4 silvers a flounder, mackeral and a cobia.. I used a berkley gulp shrimp all day the 3 inch new penny color and tore them up didn't have any luck with the reds though but overall it was a great day on the water!! Oh and I won the bragging rights at work with the two biggest fish of the day with a 24 inch trout and the cobia

I'd be very happy with a 29" cobia, since the only one I've ever caught was about a foot long!! haha
