Not much of a report but I finally caught some fish with a gotcha. I will give credit to bill cuz he mentioned once he just bounces it off the bottom and it worked. I've been told other methods that did not work for me. On my first cast I caught a small silver trout, second cast a small jack then another on the 4th cast. After that I couldn't catch anything else with it. I did notice that the paint on the head is already beat up a bit. Does that affect how much fish I will catch? Can I paint it and if so where do I get the paint?

Later on I went on to catch a couple live shrimp so I can go for trout. Caught three that were a half to an inch to small. Didn't take any pics. This was all at ftd bay pier.

I don't think it matters if the paint is gone.
What mattes is HOW you use it!

I have caught nice fish on them that only have ONE hook on each of the trebles.

For Macks, I heave it waaay out, let it hit bottom, then pump it back in, just fast enough to keep tension on the line.
Works for me!

Thanks bill! I take any and all good advice. Btw the gotcha us white with orangy red colored head. I know your preference is chrome but have you had luck with a white one?

No, because I only buy the chrome ones.
I still think it probably dosn't matter what color it is... just how it's fished.

I should try a different color sometime.

But- if it ain't broke, don't fix it, eh?
