nice haul there Andy!
how were you working the DOA for the flounder? dragging it on the bottom or bouncing on the bottom? also what weight did you use. I find the 1/8th hard to keep near the bottom.
Also, i had thought the flounder were a little deeper this time of year when it's so freaking hot. What dept were did you get em at?
I started off with the DOA 1/4 night glow shrimp. Not one fish hit it. Switched to a DOA 1/4 measles colored one. Don't know the real name for that DOA shrimp. The canoe man and Capt.Mel use to say it was their go to lure years ago. All the fish were in about 3' of water about 25 Yrds. out from the mangroves. No jigging or hopping the DOA along bottom, just let it go to bottom and start a SLOW steady glide, let it touch bottom now and then. Now that is how I work it in shallow water flats or beach. You have guys on this site that hop it jig it and one guy said he runs it across top of water and the snook blow up on it. I'm sure I tried all of that in my years of using the DOA Shrimp, but must not have worked for me, or I would be still doing it that way. 7:00 AM time to sit at the jetty. See Ya!
