To all our fellow anglers, our spot-sharing buddies, and various lurkers! Put the day on your calendar and do your best to attend. The event is meant to be a celebration about all the things that are so very good about our community -- the friendships, the information, the education, and the entertainment this site provides to our community.
All are welcome. It is definitely going to be an extravaganza LOADED with excellent guest speakers, great prizes, and the chance to meet excellent fishing buddies. There will be surprises, goodie bags, stuff to use on your fishing forays, and just great fun. We really look forward to your attending.
We thought about making fishing part of the event, because Fort Desoto Park is an oustanding fishery that's been known to hold great fish for something like 5,000 years. To read more about the history of the park (did you know that Confederate General Robert E. Lee first mapped the islands there before he left to run the Gray army?), You can read about the history of the park where the party's going to be held (Pavillion 2) by clicking here:
Fishing the Park
The park was chosen in part because of its convenience and beauty, but also because it happens to be a wonderful fishery. TheOnlineFisherman.com is a SHARING site, and we share what we know about our local "hot spots". Like Frank Sargeant and the publishers of the Hot Spot maps before us, we are maintaining a long and respected tradition of sharing so-called "secret" spots, or "Honey Holes". And the park is certainly one of them. You can find this under our "Where to Fish" tab on the site, or by clicking this link to the FishySpot map we prepared for the article about the history of the park. Whenever appropriate, we will supply history along with the GPS coordinates. So tight lines, one and all :)

And we hope to see you at the party!
