This is a critical class for anybody that wants to make the move from buying their bait to making catching bait part of catching fish - the most critical part. In this short class, you will learn everything from why and how to pick the right net for the right baits, but how to throw that perfect circle every time.

We are going to create a regular TOF resignations and RSVP for this event. That is going to become a regular.

In fact, as soon as our IT master (hint hint) figures out the issue we have with the form DaveT helped create for the tarpon school we have coming up, and I will create a simple form for captain David's net class.

He is, without a doubt, the best Presenter and entertainer in the entire outdoors industry. He is completely fun and entertaining and very, very informational. He makes learning fun.

So if you are going to go, start telling us now, and we will make sure you get registered when the form is active. You will get mailed by the form software to verify your intention to attend the class. But we really have to know so we can make sure we have the right stuff.

At the extravaganza captain Dave taught us all about castnets and there was more to it than I thought there was. i'm sure its gonna be just as great of a class and for those who don't know how to throw one this is ths only class you will ever needed to go to. His technique is not the easiest, but probably the most affective.

Can I ask you guys a question?

Would it be cool to use our application to RSVP for stuff like this? I think it would. If a few of you say it would be cool, and David would like to begin anticipating how many people will attend, than we can build it pretty fast.

Is the one for the Tarpon school ok or a pain? Though it is relatively easy to keep a spreadsheet with names and addresses and critical information on it, that application actually COLLECTS the data and THEN generates the spreadsheet.

I just never want this site to be a pain in the arse. That said, the better our data collection the better we can serve the community. When we first started the site we made you give us a ton of data BEFORE you tried the site out. This would work better. Now to register for the newsletter all we gather is the emails and names. Now the average newbies are averaging high. Like if we had "Welcome new users JOEFISH!!" we would have the top three pages of this forum filled with three columns of names. Or the bottom :)

SO the question is: Is it OK if we use that Application? Would you mind answering a few questions for a seminar like Captain David's??? First, anybody with a remote interest in casting a net.

Here are Net School questions. If you can think of one or two, and don't mind helping, tell us what we're missing:

1. What kind of fishing do you do? Inshore? Offshore?
2. What kind of bait(s) do you use now?
3. How experienced are you?
a. Very; I want to learn to throw it better.
b. Not so good. I own one and throw nothing but bananas (ask what they are lol)
c. I give up. Artificials are fun and very pretty, but I want to catch real fish!
d. Thinking of it.

If this was purely for statistical data for, let's say a prospective (or existing!!!) advertising customer, we would ask you something like "How likely are you to buy a net in the next three months?"

Those kind of questions may -- MAY - show up from time to time. We work for you and are paid by our advertisers. Real world, real business, real numbers. But that is not all that likely. People like Eagle Claw are finding us, not vice versa. We don't need to give them stats. Stats drove them here in the first place. But THESE stats -- stats that we want YOU to know -- are in many ways more important for our fishing community than advertisers.

So what do you think? Is it cool with you guys if we start gathering a little more data? We are going to use it to SELL advertising in the future, not to sell names. We don't sell names. Never in a million years would we sell names. That's icky. Eagle claw knowing how many people are using their hooks is something they've been doing for fifty years. We don't have to teach them very much lol.

Gary-

Yes sounds great! The Tarpon School RSVP couldn't be any easier, especially with its new addition to the top of the forum. Would definitely like to see usage of similar features down the road. And I am down for you guys making money however you can and would love to help participate!
