Sharing the Costs of a Professional Guide...
Spend time on The Online Fisherman web site and you will not only encounter fishing information, education and entertainment, but you will be introduced to (and hear from!) many of the area’s professional guides and charter captains. Consider fishing with these guys -- spending the day with somebody that really has a commitment to the sport, to safety and to solid customer service. This is likely to provide not only a great day on the water, but should also result in a cooler full of fish.
Want to look at who's fishing for what when? And actually share time, cost, and the adventure of fishing with a true professional? Check this out; it's the calendar function on America's coolest new online fishing community: FishNCheap.com. The site offers fisherman like us the ability to share costs associated with hiring the kind of guides you read about here -- the best there are.
Hiring a guide isn’t cheap. With busy schedules and the hassle of getting all of your friends together, it might just be time to consider sharing the expense with others to get the full experience of a professional guide-- at a fraction of the cost!
We are very excited to introduce FishNCheap.com. The company is an online community – a “fishbook” of sorts – that offers the serious (and not so serious) angler the ability to share the cost of hiring a pro to guide them to that ultimate experience. FishNCheap.com provides the quickest, easiest and least-expensive way to find a highly-rated, professional fishing guide or charter boat captain; one who is available when YOU want to fish. The company works with a growing group of guides and professionals around the United States, and they specialize in hunting every imaginable fish species.
Custom Built for Amateurs and Professionals Alike...
Launched in 2010, FishNCheap.com was developed by Chad Nikolic, , a young fishing enthusiast and entrepreneur, while traveling to the Keys alone a couple summers ago. During this trip, Chad realized how cost-prohibitive it was to book a private charter, without others to share the expense. It was his love for fishing and keen business sense that made the decision to start a professional guide service the logical venture. Like a lot of young entrepreneurs, Chad has long had a dream of owning his own business. The idea grew from just that – an idea – to a living, breathing community, one that's served both 'flavors' of its members very well in its newly-established existence.

Profiling allows professionals like our friend Derrick Burgos to put their site directly in the line of the FishNCheap community. And can share the cost of his incredible fishing experiences with several guides, reducing the cost-per-angler but still providing the high-level of service his clients have come to love.
The FishNCheap site – and the community itself – was built to serve two specific groups: anglers in need of a guide, and professional guides seeking to fill days when their regular clientele do not occupy the deck.
The site has taken off like wildfire. With hundreds of guides and anglers, what started as a local fishing community sharing professional skills (and able to reduce the hard-costs associated with fishing with the pros) is quickly growing into a national presence that will allow our community – and communities around the nation (and eventually the world!) – to fish, meet, and share experiences together.
Social Fishing for an Online Community...
If you are familiar with social networking applications like Facebook or Twitter, then FishNCheap.com will not be new ground. After creating your profile, you become either an angler or a professional member.
If you are an Angler, there is no reason to sift through lists of guides to find one that is available in your area on your chosen date. Your FishNCheap.com concierge has done all the work for you.
If you are a professional guide, you can build your charter business quickly by advertising for free (via your profile), searching for clients on the site, contacting them directly, and retaining them by adding them to your friends list or groups you can create.
FishNCheap.com is a meeting place for fishermen and guides. Registration is free. The site charges a minimal fee from the guides, who secure charters as a result of their membership, and the anglers get to fish on a pro's boat for a fraction of what it would have cost them to go it alone.
The Online Fisherman Recommends FishNCheap.com
We strongly recommend that you visit FishNCheap.com, so you can learn more about those who have chosen to participate in the site, and how becoming a part of their community will benefit your fishing life – whether you’re an Angler or a Guide.
A few of the major features & benefits that attracted us to the company include:
- Fishing Groups: From fly-fishing to spearfishing (an excellent niche group enjoyed by many), you'll find (or can even create!) a group to fit your specific needs. By gathering into online communities, the site's groups help like-minded people to find and share the cost of skill- or species-specific professionals.
- Location services: The site allows members to find guide services from Alaska to the Keys, and everywhere in between. Many of the guides and participants on Chad's site are already people you may know from our site, and they’re growing fast!
- The ability to grow your guide service for free. There's no cost associated with joining the community if you're a professional guide. The minimal commissions charged by the site will prove cost-effective on the very first trip! Anglers get to love fishing with specific guides. You know the value of repeat-customers; and this is the most cost-effective way of finding them. It costs no more than a few minutes to join, and for a dollar a day, you can even advertise your specific services on their home page—just like making their site your own.
- Profiles: For a minimal fee, guides are able to both provide on-site profiles of themselves (with their contact info), as well as direct links to their sites at no cost. (This month's featured guide happens to be a good friend of ours, Derick Burgos, known to his friends as Phatfish. Feel free to contact him and ask him what he thinks. There's nothing like talking to somebody you trust to get their “read” on a product or service.)
