Bayside Flats
Anchor up in 3 or 4 feet of water. Shut your sounder off. Keep the noise down on the boat. Purina Tropical Fish Food is the chum of choice. It can be purchased at most tackle shops. Mix the Purina with a little saltwater until it is of a pasty oatmeal consistency. Start dropping dime size pieces of chum into the water - in the exact same place - letting the tide take the chum out. Chum for at least 15 mins or until you see the baitfish schooling up. You wont always see them because they will stay in the grass or stay away from the boat. Use a cast net between 8 to 10 feet with a 3/8ths mesh. After approx 15 minutes throw the net at the end of your chum line or wherever the tide is taking your chum. That should give you a nice amount of scaled sardines with some pinfish mixed in.
