Does Barometric Pressure Effect the Bite?

As a regular section of our site, we post what are called FishySpots -- maps we build using a commercial application that creates GoogleEarth maps we're able to then publish for our users. Under normal circumstances, these maps show fishing locations -- both shore bound and for boaters -- where we've personally caught the fish we target. From snook to tarpon, and snapper to sheepshead, the maps will help you find the places you've only heard about -- places like the Kitchen and Allenn's Creek, and a ridgeline in the center of the bay called The Middle Grounds (but skinny grounds, not the 120ft deep offshore Grounds).

Dockside restaurants like Hula Bay on the Southeast Corner of the Gandy Bridge often serve as tournament launching and weigh-in locales.

We have now published a new map in our "Where To" section. This map is for great Dockside Restaurants -- places you can eat lunch after a day slamming over-sized reds, or jumping the tarpon that fill our region in the early spring, and hang around until the water hits 78F.

This map is called the Fishy Restaurants map, and will display TOF (TheOnlineFisherman) map markers at the restaurants you'll be able to reach from boat. The maps began their lives on our forums, which -- if you're not already a member -- you should consider joining. They're an outstanding community source of answers to questions, secret fishy spots, recipes, and fishing friends unlike any other site in the country. Registering also qualifies you for the many promotional giveaways and community gatherings we hold. Participating in our site is being part of the local fishing community.

The Dockside Restaurants map will be left accessible to all visitors, whether they're part of our registered membership or not. Other FishySpot maps -- the ones that show actual locations where professionals and serious amateurs successfully target local predator species will remain available only to registered visitors.

Each of the restaurants on the map can be reached by boat, and are truly dockside restaurants. When we did the map, there were a few places mentioned on our forums that we weren't able to find, so expect the map to be updated in the very near future.

Also, please help us be the best site we can be. If you know of restaurants we should have on the maps and failed to include, do us a favor and let us know.

Otherwise, enjoy the maps and enjoy TheOnlineFisherman.com!
