I live in St. Augustine and would like the best baits and spots for redfish and trout near 312 bridge area

Dear Captain"I live in St. Augustine and would like the best baits and spots for redfish and trout near 312 bridge area"

Hi Chris,

Speaking to some of the local anglers in that area, the intracoastal waterway around the Vilano Beach Bridge, the 312 Bridge and the Bridge of Lions are great places to fish for redfish and flounder. St Augustine's inlets and jetties are also areas that are producing flounder and redfish at the present time.

The bait of choice is killifish, also known as mud minnows and creek chubs. At the inlet they said the incoming tide seemed to work the best for bigger redfish over the 15 lb. range.

Also in the next few months we will have new design at The Online Fisherman website. The new site will have Google maps with great places to fish in your area.

Thank you for coming to The Online Fisherman.
