I am Captain Brandon Henley a light tackle and fly fishing guide on the West Coast of Florida. Growing up on the coast of North Carolina I became obsessed with inshore fishing at a young age. I spent my early years chasing redfish, trout, and flounder. I also developed a particular fondness for catching these fish on the fly rod.
While attending college for fisheries biology I started guiding fly fisherman in the summers and on the weekends. After college, I went into guiding full time in Montana, Alaska, Colorado and Florida. I have been a full-time Charter Captain in the Florida Keys and Tampa Bay area for the past 12 years.
My approach to inshore fishing relies heavily on stealth and traditional flats fishing. I love sight fishing with artificials and fly fishing for tarpon, snook, and redfish. I also utilize live bait if conditions warrant or if my client prefers. My goal on every charter is to make you a better fisherman. I teach my clients to see fish, read the water, and make the proper cast. When you step off my boat you will walk away with a deeper knowledge of flats fishing and the shallow water marine environment.
On most of my charters, we target tarpon, snook or redfish. We also catch cobia, trout, permit and snapper as well. I have a true passion for tarpon fishing and love to share it with others. I guide out of a Maverick Hpx-V poling skiff and a Sea Hunt bay boat on live bait trips. I can accommodate up to four fishermen.
Please give me a call or visit my website for more details on Tampa Bay fishing charters. I look forward to showing you some of the best flats fishing Florida has to offer.
