Dania Beach Pier
Located between world-famous Ft. Lauderdale Beach and the Hollywood Boardwalk, Dania Beach is one part old Florida and one part international travelling scene. The beaches are beautiful, the food is great, the seafood next to none, and the fishing on this popular small fishing pier open for the anxious angler year round. The proximity to deep water means you can catch a wide variety of species, including Mutton and Yellow Tail Snapper, Cero Mackerel, Bluefish, Snook, Tarpon, and Barracuda.
The pier is open from 6:00 am to midnight every day of the year, and is lighted for night fishing. There’s a bait and tackle shop offering snacks and drinks on the pier, plus several restaurants nearby. And for those looking for a little more excitement, the world-renown Bahia Mar marina in Fort Lauderdale is ten minutes away, where you can charter a glass-bottom, deep sea fishing trip.
Each June, the Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with The Oceanographic Center (OC) at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), holds the Dania Beach Charity Fishing Tournament. NSU researchers are engaged in a broad range of marine science disciplines, including the Fisheries Research Laboratory. Proceeds from the tournament support a variety of local and national charities.
