skordish got a reaction from phil030 in 2013 Young Gulfshore 20 For Sale
    Hello Everyone,
with much sorrow, due to a pressing family matter I must part ways with my Young Gulfshore 20. I'm only going to post a few pictures here and limited space to me being "on the road". It's been a phenomenal performing boat for me and those that I have the pleasure to be on board with me. I'm asking $44,500. Please visit "The Hull Truth) and search "Young Gulfshore 20" for more pictures, full list of extras, and warranty information. I apologize for the redirect and if this is not allowed please let me know. Thanks - Steve

Very nice snook. And to think that I get all (over)prepared, geared up, ice, 6 rigged rods, Go-Pro charged etc, etc. the night before. You go out and fart around for "30 mins. or so" and kill 'em. I hate you. Just kidding Arti...very nice job    two thumbs up! I know you did your homework.

I just wanted to say thanks to JL/ Marine and Power Pole for their great service and help. I had a malfunctioning port side pole and Alex and Nathan at Power Pole made an on the water diagnosis that was spot on. I had an unresponsive port pole. The pump was showing a continuous green light and wouldn't pair to the remote. They did a great job of diagnosing the problem. I had a new cap and ribbon the next day, and all is perfect again. Nice job fellas and Power Pole!

Probably my favorite fishing show. Very good insight and instruction. Complete 180 degrees from shows like Bill Dance, who has never caught a bass less than 6 lbs - lol

You listed the "pros", which usually leads to "cons", didn't see any(??). I got my Yeti 65 with my boat and love it! Would I buy another? Don't know, but I do love the stability of being able to fish/stand on it without wobbling, Ice retention is great, but none of the big players hold ice for more than 3-4 days if you're opening/closing many times per day. Seems to me like unless you're in timbuk fn' tu and can't access ice for a week it's all a bunch of crap --- how many people are away from the mainland and can't source a bag of ice for a week?

Fordee, it's great you're able get out and wet a line. Not sure of your situation but if you'd like to, and you're able, you can get out with me on my boat on UTB.

Anyway, The numbers look fine. Imagine looking at a map like "hot spots". The numbers you see on the map are low tide reference depths. Your low of -.3 at 2:26 am means the water depth will be around .3 ft. LOWER than the depth on the paper chart. The depth of 1.7 @ 9:47 am means the water depth should be about 1.7 feet OVER the depths shown on the paper chart(or Garmin/Lowrance, etc.) Maybe I misunderstood your question, but that my reply. Great question BTW!

Sorry man, wasn't questioning how you measure, just saying ya gotta pinch the tail on the fish that require it if you're taking them home.

Just a follow up report on our trip to Crystal River on Friday 4/24. Didn't do so well, managed only 2 barely in-slot reds and 4-5 trout, Tried to fish the outer keys but the tide wasn't right (outgoing to low). Not enough water to do much. Literally idled 5 miles just to find 12-18 inches of water just to get on plane to get back to deeper water and the river. Not my type of water/fishing - Pucker factor was off the charts just idling through the flats

Thanks fishinchick, I was considering putting in at Fort Island and fishing the outer passes and grass beds. I've put in at The Plantation in the past but it's such a long slow ride to the outer islands. Have you found the trout/reds on the outer passes and islands or the back bays and creeks? Sounds like I won't waste time with the white bait, maybe net up some pins instead.

Had a couple free hours Friday morning so dumped the kayak into a local lake for some topwater action while the bass are crashing schools in the middle sections. Paddled out towards a school after finally seeing some action erupt. Only picked four off with a frog schemed ssj before they shut down in that particular area. Started working some new to me shorelines with only one more similar sized fish on the ssj to show. So started to troll a gold/black culprit worm on a 1/4oz jighead on the way back to launch and hooked into another that was best of the day so far. Anchored up in that spot and it was game on from there bringing eight more quality size fish to the boat and losing three others that shook the hook. Biggest shown below I'm guessing around 5lbs with a belly full of baitfish. Still rather be snook fishing but a bite like that on very light tackle is always a good time.

skordish got a reaction from ladyluck in Good Day In Upper Tampa Bay
Met my fishing Buddy Harry and his brother in law John (from Ohio) in Safety Harbor at 6:45 for a day of fishing. Hit three spots to throw the net for bait and got nada. The fourth spot was the charm, one throw we filled the well with 3-5 inch(!) greenbacks. Time to fish. Hit a flat on the Pinellas side and found a variety of jacks and reds(mostly jacks). Harry hooked up with a beautiful 32 inch red that didn't know the word quit. It was a very muscular redfish! John hadn't much (or any) saltwater experience and I had a ball watching him do battle with 4 jacks in the 3-4 lb. range.

Around 11:00 am we decided to move, we were into an incoming tide, and we thought we'd hit some rip rap along the bridge. Not much other than 15-18" snook and more voracious jacks. Fished the rocks for about 45 minutes and with a good amount of water in the bay, we headed for a usually productive oyster bar - It didn't disappoint! We threw chummers out and they were getting hammered left and right.  Snook, reds, jacks, catfish were all stacked on the bar. I'm guessing we caught 4 reds, 4 jacks, 6 snook ( 1 in slot), and 2 catfish before the bite fell off.

At high tide we decided to get in tight to the mangroves in our money spot. Once again, didn't disappoint. A big fish busted as we eased into the area and Harry lofted a greenie out. At that point, all heck broke loose and Harry was hooked up with a silver missile. After several frantic runs toward the mangroves and some drag burning open water runs we finally eased the 38" snook to the boat! An awesome fish to say the least.
We finished up with many more jacks and snook (thanks to John) and decided to call it a day.

All total, I figured we caught over 50 hard pulling fish on the day. The bigger ones were 2 over slot snook, 2 in the slot, 25 under slot. 10 reds. 2 over slot, 5 in the slot and 3 under. 6 or 7 jacks between 2- 5 lbs. And a partridge in a  pear tree ...but no f'in trout for the boat slam

The best part was that these were John's first reds, snook, and jacks he's ever caught! It was great to be able to watch him add the fish to his list ( he's very good with the rod, not a novice by any means!)
