  1. After about a year of fishing in our sit-ins, I decided to add a fish finder. I went with the Garmin Striker 4, which has been great, but was really wondering what to do about the transducer. Many people mount them in a water well using putty, but I really wanted it in the water. In the end I settled on the Scotty Transducer Arm Mount and it has been excellent. I highly recommend if you are mainly fishing in lakes. Shallow rivers could be a bigger problem, but I rarely fish them so not a concern. We have a video of the install here if anyone is interested: Also a recent video of me using the set-up:
  2. I took the bones out before cooking, so no problem there.
  3. Was finally able to get my daughter out with me fishing. Not a lot of fish, but had a great evening on the water and caught enough to deep fry some pike. Overall a great day:
  4. I have seen a lot of bite marks on pike before, but never any damage like this. Anyone else seen something like this before?
  5. In one of our recent videos we talked about fishing log books and how great they are for going back and looking at the details of some our our greatest fishing days from years ago. While there are clearly products out there I was also thinking that some people might just want something quick that they can print off at home. As a result we created a template for one of our lakes that can be readily updated for any lake. Our sample is attached. https://www.instagram.com/p/CAot1v-A2mo/ Want one for your lake? We are updating PDFs for free to any subscribers.
  6. We were looking for some plans for easy access outdoor kayak storage and didn't see much out there. Found a pic on the internet that seemed like it would work and modified it for the space we had. Turned out OK:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDfTzKaaGcA
  7. Hope this finds all of you healthy and safe. We are a couple of weeks away from the kayak season here in Canada, so I spent some time over Easter cleaning up my tackle box. Decided to add it to our video series including a new giveaway for some lures. As primarily pike fisherman, we tend to focus on spoons, but would love to hear what others use with great success.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV0kfE4N...KHJ4AaABAg
  8. We are now about a month in to using our sit ins and are seeing some better success. Our recent trip was quite successful, although most of the fish weren't huge:We also did some organizing and added some gear based on things I have seen here and on other forums.I hope you are all having good success!
  9. My son and I recently bought a couple of inexpensive sit-ins to try kayak fishing. Great opportunity to spend some time with him and also learn a new way of fishing. We are recording our journey and having a great time so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCrxveltFOM&t=26s Looking forward to reading about other peoples adventures, tips and tricks.
