Grouper Fishing

Recommended Posts

Well John, this is what I learned; knocker rig for live bait.

The reason, the weight on the hook keeps the bait from

helicoptering down the main line, tangling everything up.

Dead bait use a fish finder rig, cut head and tail off to

keep the helicoptering down.

I like to set-up with a knocker rig to start with, because

I can use a spit-shot up the leader to stop the weight from sliding

down the line, just like a knocker rig. This allows me to fish either way.

I always use a bead to soften the impact on the area where the line, weight,

and hook meet .

Weight, as light as possible.

Years ago, working on a party boat, I was able to stand back and watch what worked

and what didn't.
