Where To Wade From In Tampa Area?

Recommended Posts

I waded Picnic Island today on an incoming during the major solunar and struck out.  Had a couple dozen nice select shrimp, too.  Water wasn't all that cold as wimpy me went without waders. lol  I just never seem to catch anything around the full moon.

There were others there but I didn't see any bent rods at all.

Good point Cody, and I agree. What are some of the things that you look for when scouting on Google earth, and what are some of the things that you look for on the water that make a spot fishy? Thanks for your input.

When I look for wade spots on google earth I mostly look for a place to park and access the water. Most grass flats will hold good fish if there is decent water flow and baitfish around like mullet, whitebait, etc.

For land fishing, honestly I look for places that are as least obvious as possible that a lot of people wouldn't fish. I never have a lot of luck at places that get fished constantly. And the obvious landmarks; oyster bars, drop offs, potholes, grass flats, mullet jumping, etc like cody said.
