Garmin and Others Settle Legal Battles
Garmin and other navigation companies come to grips with a year-long legal battle over technology. All is good.
This is a press release from Garmin - a company a lot of us know. Between them and Lowrance and a few others, there are hardly any boats on the water that doesn't rely on their navigation or fish finding technology.
OLATHE, Kan. & EGERSUND, Norway
Garmin International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ:GRMN) and Navico, parent company to the Lowrance®, Simrad® and B&G® brands, today announced that they have ended a three-year-long dispute relating to sonar and auto guidance patents. The agreement includes a broad cross licensing of patents and other intellectual property, which will allow both companies to bring new innovations to the market faster and benefit all marine customers.
