Largemouth Smallmouth and Lake Trout
How about that for a triple? You're talking about a few fish we know and one that is beyond many southern imaginations here.
So where is Lake Huron, anyway? You can find it yourself, but trust us that it's probably not very wadeable in the dead of winter. Ice fishing probably, but no wading in skinny grassy water. That said, this short fishing story from the Michigan Live web site really caught our attention. Once a long time ago on our way to a fishing camp to fish for walleye and northerns in Canada, we passed by and had lunch at a high-end lodge specializing in these incredible deep (and cold) water trout.
From the story:
According to the Department of Natural Resources weekly fishing report, "lake trout are everywhere" in the Lake Huron water off of Rogers City. Several limit catches of lake trout were reported by those fishermen using spoons, cowbells and other lures.
