Mass Dump of Australian Salmon Leads to Call for Net Ban
Guns were banned in Australia after a mass shooting. 400kg of dumped Australian Salmon may lead to net bans
Every Australian we've ever met was so cool and so unique we would love to visit the continent if it wasn't thirty days away by sea (the only way we would consider going). We love stories from there, and we have a fair amount of Aussie readers that visit the site regularly.
This story is about a dump of more than 400kg of dead fish - Australian Salmon - out of nets before the commercial anglers got busted. It happens here too, but this is a big kill. Read the story we found on the Adelaide Advertiser and make your own judgement. One bad apple does not make the entire crop bad, but considering the willingness of the Australian governing parties to ban stuff, you never know.
The fisherman says it happened when his nets got caught on a jetty. Accidents sure happen. A ban on commercial fishing nets is highly unlikely as a result of one guy's bad decisions.
The whole story is here.
Before this story we did not know there was an Australian Salmon. But there sure is.
