Fishing for Mental Health

How good is it to get out on the water? This author says it could be a matter of life or death. We agree.

This story - and it has some length - is about mental health as much as it is about fishing. It points out that 1 in 2 men have a mental issue over the course of their lives (and half do not?) and how fishing can really do a lot to make somebody feel better. It's also a way to reach out and touch somebody that might be hidden were it not for a renegade perch.

Perch and mental health

We need to talk, ask, listen, encourage action and check in.  Going fishing provides a great opportunity to create the right environment to ask a mate are they going OK. We need to reach out, take action, and look after each other and ourselves.
