'I can grow a 12" trout to 18" in a year' says NC school teacher growing trout in pens for the express purpose of fishing.
This is one of those stories that makes you feel good. It was run in the San Francisco Chronicle but it tells the story about a school teacher in North Carolina who is successfull (!) growing trout in pens so they can later be released - in beautiful, challenging, and tasty - for the local angling community. In a time when many people in the media make anglers look like they're monsters who want to torture fish for the heck of it, it's good to see efforts like this designed to actually expand our community.
