Gigging for Flounder

Can't eat a snook? Why not hunt for flounder in the dark with a spear?

Gigging is an ancient - perhaps the most ancient - way to capture and eventually eat a fish. Wooden or bamboo spears with the tips split in three or four places and the ends sharpened and barbed can grab a fish quite effectively If you've seen Naked and Afraid you have seen it work.

This great video - including some super underwater footage is from the Marsh Man Mason on YouTube. This is a guy that has a lot of people interested in what he publishes, and we really appreciate him showing us how to gig fish in the middle of the night.
