Russian Fly Fishing the Old Fashioned Way
Fishing the Ufa river in Russia using the natural long rods that gave birth to modern flyrods.
Flyfishing started - as far as we know - in the Balkans. Roman troops learned how to catch trout from the locals using long rods and weightless flies tied from feather. It worked than and it still works now. Watching these Russian anglers fishing with long rods - all line and lure and no reels at all - is incredible to see. From a Russian site we could not pronounce if our lives depended on it.
